The
Breed
Society
welcomes
new
members,
from
breeder
to
pet
owner
or
if
you
just
have
an
interest
in
the
Maine
Coon
Breed.
We
hold
an
AGM
in
November
each
year,
and
all
are
welcome
to
attend.
We
also
have
an
annual
Barbeque
in
the
summer
at
the
home
of
one
of
our
members,
a
chance
to
socialise
and
leave
the
cats
at
home
for
the
day
!
You
can
also
be
in
with
a
chance
to
win
that
prestigious
trophy
'THE
LION
ON
THE
ROCKS'
..but
you
have
to
be
at
the
BBQ
to
have
a
go
!

The
2006
winner,
Linda
Wells,
receives
the
Trophy...and
is
still
smiling
for
some
reason:))
The
story
of
the
Lion....
The
Lion
is
the
official
mascot
of
the
Breed
Society.
It
was
originally
purchased
on
Ebay
by
Sue
Deane,
who
thought
from
the
description
that
it
would
make
a
fabulous
show
Trophy....
however
on
unpacking
it
she
fell
about
laughing
as
the
hideous
object
was
uncovered
!
She
therefore
put
it
into
the
Breed
society
raffle,
it
was
one
of
those
prizes
that
nobody
wanted
to
win,
so
it
was
therefore
felt
it
should
be
declared
as
prize
ticket
No.
3,
and
from
then
on
the
third
ticket
every
year
must
take
home
the
lion
....maybe
its
best
to
only
by
2
tickets
!!!!
